Two of our area schools are performing plays over the next two weekends, and each deserve as much community support as possible.
The Lake Placid Middle High School will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 18, 19 and 20. This is a special occasion as the students will perform at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts rather than the usual school auditorium.
There will also be a children’s matinee at 11 a.m. on Saturday. What a great way to introduce young children to the world of theater.
The Keene Valley Central School will perform
William Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing at 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 25, 26 and 27. It will be the last performance directed by Joy McCabe, who is retiring after 23 years of teaching.
All the students, staff and volunteers have worked hard to make these performances happen and being rewarded by a packed house and loud applause is something each and every cast member will truly appreciate. It will also become a cherished memory in their scholastic life.
Please show your community support by attending one — or more — of these shows. It’ll cost a few bucks to get in, but the value to our school children will be
priceless.
