Keep on strolling

December 18, 2009
Lake Placid News
The Holiday Village Stroll was once again a successful endeavor and local organizers should be commended for their efforts. The event showcased everything that is wonderful about our Olympic Village.

Now that organizers have two years under their belts, it’s time to consider expanding the event.

Attendees said they enjoyed the Dollar Feast at local eateries, and next year perhaps there will be more

establishments jumping on the bandwagon.

There’s also no reason not to hold more Village Strolls throughout the year. Why limit such a great

concept to the holiday season? Main Street is truly the focal point of the village and events such as this inspire more people to get out — and attendees reinforced that with their statements.

Perhaps some businesses off Main Street could find ways to attract business and take part in future strolls.

The common theme of the Holiday Village Stroll seemed to be that it’s a great way to get people out. Now organizers should once again build upon a

successful event.
