LAKE PLACID — A Lake Placid figure and speed skater and blogger is in a contest to blog at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

Christie Sausa, 19, founder and author of the blog Lake Placid Skater, is one of the five semifinalists in the student category of the Microsoft Office Winter Games Blogging Contest, according to U.S. Figure Skating Online.

The contest has two categories, students and women. The winner of each will receive a trip to the 2010 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas from Jan. 7 to 10, 2010, as well as the all-expenses-paid trip to Vancouver.

The public can vote until Nov. 29, reducing the five semifinalists in each category to three. Judges will then choose the winners based on their blogging work.

For more information on the contest and to vote, visit www.officewintergames.com. There is an icon that reads “Cast Your Vote for the Best Blogathlete.” After clicking on that, Sausa is listed among the other individuals trying to win the contest. You may have to register to vote, but it is an easy process.
