    LAKE PLACID — Helen E. Williams, 80, of Keeseville Country Gardens, Keeseville, and formerly of 89 Greenwood St., Lake Placid, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. Mrs. Williams had been battling many illnesses for several years.

    She was born in East Greenbush on Aug. 10, 1929, the daughter of Reginald and Ida (Lincoln) McLean. She was the wife of Bert D. Williams Sr., who passed away Nov. 9, 1999.

    Mrs. Williams was an active contributor to St. Jude Children’s Reseach Hospital and the loving mother of eight children: Lila Hearne and her husband Phil of Akwesasne; Ida Moquin and her husband Chris of Constable; Rebecca Reidhaar and her husband Richard of Felton, Del.; Bert Williams Jr. and his wife Linda of Branson, Mo.; Betty Mitchell and her husband Dan of Peru, N.Y.; Pam Massman of Melbourne, Fla.; June Worley of New Milford, Conn.; and Rodney Williams Sr. of Torrington, Conn..

    Survivors also include: one sister Mary Nichols and her husband Melvin of Schuyler Falls; five brothers: Robert McLean and his wife Ann of Lake Placid, Clyde McLean and his wife Joyce of Four Oaks, N.C., James McLean of Minnesota, Gerald McLean of North Carolina and Everett McLean of Missouri; 25 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

    Mrs. Williams was predeceased by two brothers: Sunny and Merrill; three sisters: Judy, Rena and Sonya; and one daughter-in-law Jodi Williams.

    Calling hours were held Sunday, Oct. 11 at the Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid. A funeral service was held on Monday, Oct. 12, at the Pilgrim Holiness Church in Lake Placid. Rev. Saxton, pastor of the Pilgrim Holiness Church, officiated. Burial followed at Jay Central Cemetery in Jay.

    The family suggests donations in memory of Mrs. Williams be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
