LAKE PLACID — Vincent Ronald McLean, 78, died suddenly on Monday, September 7, 2009 at his Lake Placid home.
Vince was born June 1, 1931 in Ford Hospital in Detroit, Mich., the son of Bernice McLean Stewart and Frederick R. McLean.
Mr. McLean attended the Detroit public schools and graduated from the University of Michigan, from which he also received an MBA in finance.
Mr. McLean worked for the Ford Motor Company before serving in the U.S. Army for two years at Fort Dietrich in Maryland. He was the vice president of finance for National Lead Company in New York, vice president of finance for the Sperry Corporation and a member of the board of directors of Alexander, Alexander, Miller, Anderson and Sherrerd.
Vince also served on the boards of the Lake Placid Sinfonietta and the Lake Placid Center for the Arts, and is listed in Who’s Who in America. Vince was a resident of Westfield, N.J. and Lake Placid.
Mr. McLean is survived by his wife of 49 years, Joyce A. McLean; his two children: Judy McLean and her husband Frederick Jubitz of Ridgewood, N.J. and Lake Placid and Bruce McLean and his wife Jill of Napa, Calif.; four grandchildren: Taylor Jubitz, Bradley Jubitz, Hayley Jubitz and Karlin McLean; two brothers: Robert McLean and his wife Susan of Bellaire, Mich. and James McLean and his wife Vicki of Novi, Mich.; and one brother-in-law, Daniel Koch Jr. of San Francisco, Calif.
A private service for family and friends was held Sunday, Sept. 13. The Clark Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Lake Placid Sinfonietta or the Lake Placid Center for the Arts.
