WILMINGTON — Patricia K. Gordon, 81, of Wilmington, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009 after a short illness and stay at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.
Borm in Buffalo on Dec. 23, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Florence and George Palmquest. She graduated from Kensington High School in Buffalo and then attended Parson School of Design in New York City.
While growing up, she spent her summers in the Adirondacks, where she met her husband of 55 years, Lewis Gordon. They were married on June 5, 1954 in Au Sable Forks and have always resided in Wilmington.
Patricia is survived by her husband; her daughter Leslie Kopec; her son-in-law Carl Kopec; and grandson Ben Kopec, all of Mendon; her brother and sister-in-law Howard and Nancy Gordon of Miami, Fla. and Lake Placid; her sister-in-law Doris Gordon of Vero Beach, Fla. and Au Sable Forks; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.
At Patricia’s request there will be no calling hours. A memorial service celebrating her life was held Friday, Sept. 4 at the Whiteface United Methodist Church in Wilmington. A reception immediately followed the service.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Wilmington Rescue Squad.
