Charles E. Hare

LAKE PLACID — Charles E. Hare Jr., 87, of Cascade Road, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008 at AMC-Uihlein in Lake Placid.

He was born in Lake Placid Dec. 20, 1920, the son of Charles E. and Tressa (Lamoy) Hare.

Mr. Hare was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in World War II, and a member of the National American Legion. He had worked in Lake Placid for the village of Lake Placid Water Department, retiring in 1976 as supervisor of the water department.

He is survived by his wife Irene (Senecal) Hare of Lake Placid; three sons: Stephen Hare of Chaumont, Allan Hare of East Greenbush and Charles Hare III of Troy; one brother, Donald Hare of Lake Placid; and three grandchildren: Jeffery Hare, Scott Hare and Craig Hare.

He was predeceased by his brother Walter Hare and two sisters, Catherine Nason and Ada Hare.

There are no calling hours. Services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. The Clark Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
