LAKE PLACID — David Paul Lieb, 86, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008 in Lake Placid.
A longtime resident of Livingston, Mr. Lieb was born in Newark, N.J. and graduated from South Side High School and Newark University (now Rutgers).
He served in the 8th Army Air Force during World War II as a pilot navigator, completing 36 missions over Germany, France, Poland, Belgium and Holland.
Mr. Lieb was a certified public accountant. He began his career as a comptroller fo Display Box Company in Harrison, N.J. and then established a private accounting practice.
Mr. Lieb was an avid fisherman and tennis player. He supported many charities inclucing UJA Federation Metro West, the Simon Wiesenthal Center and Hadassah.
He is survived by his second wife, Diane Ricca Lieb, and four children from his first marriage to Sylvia Sass Lieb, including Cynthia Lieb of New York City, Carin and Paul Feldman of Baltimore, Hilarie Lieb and Morris Goldman of Oak Park, Ill. and Dr. Irwin Lieb of Saranac Lake; eight grandchildren: Allyson, Shane, Mimi, Megan, Brendan, Sydnie, Coleman and Camryn; two great-grandchildren: Sabine and Elliot; his brother Dr. Herbert Lieb of Roseland; and Dennis Ricca and David Ricca and their families.
Services were held at noon Tuesday, Dec. 2 at the M.B. Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid. Rabbi Alec Friedmann officiated. An interment service followed at the United Hebrew Community Cemetery in Lake Placid.
