Sister Mary Louise Wiley R.S.M.

LAKE PLACID — Sister Mary Louise Wiley R.S.M. of Saint Margaret’s Convent, Uihlein Mercy Center, passed away Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008.

Born Sept. 15, 1916, she was the daughter of Leonard and Emily (Blum) Wiley Mason.

Sister Mary Louise had worked as a registered nurse and supervisor at Mercy Hospital in Watertown. Sister had also worked in Watertown as a nursing instructor and as director at the School of Nursing. From 1968 to 1969, Sister was assistant director of Mercy Hospital in Watertown, and from 1969 to 1973 Sister Mary Louise was associate administrator at Uihlein Mercy Center in Lake Placid.

Sister Mary Louise is survived by three brothers: Harold Wiley of Cape Vincent, James Wiley of Cape Vincent and Philip Wiley of Spencerport; one sister, Anna Sullivan, of Fairport; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by three brothers: Charles Wiley, Donald Wiley and Fr. John Wiley.

Calling hours were held Tuesday, Nov. 4 at St. Margaret’s Convent Library in Lake Placid and Nov. 5 at Saint Vincent dePaul Catholic Church in Cape Vincent. A Mass of Christian burial was held Wednesday following calling hours with the Rev. Leo Wiley will officiating. Burial followed in St. Vincent dePaul Cemetery.

The Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid was in charge of arrangements.
