LAKE PLACID — Lynn W. Wilson, 78, of Winter Street in Lake Placid, passed away on Friday, Oct. 24 after a lengthy illness.
Born July 29, 1930 in Lake Placid, he was the son of Arthur and Myrtle (Winch) Wilson.
He was a graduate of Lake Placid High School, class of 1950, and was a veteran of the Korean War, and served four years in the United States Air Force.
Mr. Wilson was employed by the U.S. Postal Service as postmaster in Malone from 1982 to 1983 and in Lake Placid from 1983 until his retirement in 1987.
He is survived by his wife Alice (Connors) Wilson of Lake Placid; two nephews: Lynn F. Wilson and Larry Straight, both of Lake Placid; two nieces: Lorraine VonDell, of Lake Placid, and Marilyn Mussari, of Lockport; and his sister-in-law Betty Wilson, of Lake Placid.
He was predeceased by his sister, Helen Straight, and a brother, Calvin Wilson.
A memorial Mass was held Wednesday, Oct. 29 at St. Agnes Church in Lake Placid with the Rev. Joseph Morgan officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Holy Name Cemetery in Au Sable Forks.
