Celebrating Keene’s 200th birthday

May 1, 2008
Lake Placid News
The town of Keene is celebrating its 200th birthday this year and a huge celebration is scheduled on the weekend of July 26 and 27 at Marcy Field in Keene Valley.

This jubilee will include many family activities, old-fashioned baking, eating contests, craft demonstrations, entertainment and games, among other things. The celebration will be true Americana with a highlight on our unique Adirondack tradition and heritage.

To honor this historic year for Keene Valley, the News will soon feature articles and photos related to Keene’s history.

Those who have old photos of the town of Keene are welcome to submit them for publication in the News. If you have a story of interest about the town, please feel free to share it. Just call Rich or Heather at the News at 523-4401.

200th birthdays don’t come around too often. Let’s make Keene’s celebration one to remember.

Happy Birthday Keene!
